Kirsten began practicing yoga, and teaching group fitness in the late 1980s and enjoyed yoga for fitness during her career in corporate finance. She retired her job to care for her husband, who had been diagnosed with incurable brain cancer in 2011. When he passed 2 years later, she relied on yoga therapy as a way to recover from the physical and mental symptoms caused by prolonged stress, and trauma.
Kirsten has earned specialties in Yoga4Cancer, Yoga for Anxiety & Depression, Ayurvedic Yoga, and is a certified Ayurveda Lifestyle Counselor. She studies in the ParaYoga Master program with Rod Stryker, and the science of Tantra at the Himalayan Institute with Pandit Rajmani Tigunait. She was initiated into the tradition of Sri Vidya in 2014.
She focuses on supporting the body’s innate healing powers through yoga asana, pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra, incorporating principles of Ayurveda. Kirsten can be contacted directly for privates or private group classes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
